Recently, we sent our associate editor Ken Knox up to the set of Falcon Studio's upcoming movie Dare. Directed by GAYVN Award-winning diretor Jett Blakk, the movie--described by Blakk himsef as a "porn noir thriller with romantic overtones"--is about a wayward drifter (Braxton Bond) and the hitchhiker (Riley Burke) that he picked up and their encounter with a crazed drug addict (porn verteran-turned-mainstream actor Lou Cass--back in the business after 17 years for a rare non-sexual role) while driving to Los Angeles.
Shot at the Four Aces movie set in the desertous Palmdale, Calif. (incidentally, the location for BuckShot's GAYVN Award-winning Big Rig, as well as mainstream thrillers like Vacancy and The Devil's Rejects), the movie is a violent and psychological suspense drama pluming some of the darker recesses of the human heart. Cass, looking more porn-ready than ever with a body that now sports tattoos of Prince, pop singer E.G. Daily and his name, turns in a powerful performance as the dangerous Psycho Sam, while both Bond and Burke show promise as emerging actors in their respective roles as two young men inexplicably brought closer together in spite of past heartbreaks.
It's an uncommonly dramatic story for a porn film, and one that shows promise for GAYVN Award nominations come next year, particularly for both leads, Cass and director Blakk. The all-star cast also includes Cort Donovan, Erik Rhodes, Tyler Riggz, Matthew Rush, Roman Heart, Mason Wyler, Tyler Saint, Dallas Reeves, Eric Blaine, Jack Shamama (in a non-sex role) and newcomer Noah Driver, making his feature film debut following a stint as a model for RandyBlue.com.
We were on the set for the third day of filming - Here's a preview of the on set exclusive, which you can read more about in Unzipped!
