Here at Unzipped, we love porn stars. Even more than that, we love porn stars who want to change the world. And so we were pretty happy to "partner up" with Raging Stallion Studio's Man of the Year, Steve Cruz, for his freshly launched website, HowIRoll.info, an online community for the encouragement of safer sex practices among gay men.
"I have always been involved in public health—as a designer and volunteer—on the ground level of several campaigns promoting safer sex, crystal meth prevention and enrollment in the trails for an HIV vaccine," Cruz recently told UnzippedBlog.net. "[HowIRoll] was something I could do on my own, so I made the time in my crazy pants dropping schedule to do it!"
In addition to the site, which will be launched in January, Cruz will be filming several short public service announcements, which will be included on all Raging Stallion Studios releases in 2008, and will be distributing the Steve Cruz Condom for free in bars, sex clubs, and bathhouses across the country. What's more, Cruz says he will be donating all proceeds from personal items sold via his own site, SteveCruzXXX.com, to the HowIRoll fund.
Cruz says he thinks this is the perfect time to promote safer sex. "People are paying attention right now," he told us. "I'm cast in some pretty major flicks and I'm Raging Stallion Man of the Year in 2008. So while I have the attention why not promote a very important message? I'm a porn star. I have a lot of sex- HOT SEX. I play safe because I'm in the highest risk group for infection. Who better to send the message?"
